Training

Training at Valhalla is available only to our Members, their guests and guests of Elk Mountain Resort.

At Valhalla, we stress that the athletic ability to draw and shoot quickly and accurately is only useful in conjunction with the tactical ability to recognize an attack and respond efficiently using the environment, training and equipment available.

The Valhalla Shooting Club is the world’s most progressive reality based members shooting club. Specializing in close quarters, advanced weapons handling and efficient responses in realistic situations during critical incidents, Valhalla’s programs for armed professionals have been praised by the military, law enforcement and executive protection professionals from around the world.

The Valhalla facility itself is also unique. The centerpiece is the 360 degree live fire scenario ranges, featuring automated targets and computer controlled light and sound effects. In addition to true live fire in 360 degrees (using frangible ammunition), these ranges are used for Force-on-Force simulation training. These ranges include settings such as a two bedroom home, a nightclub, a bar, park, street scene (w/ car), two stairwells and several hallways. All areas of the scenario ranges have computer controlled lighting which allows varying light levels, including no lights, at any time. These ranges are also designed to allow practice in mechanical, ballistic and (surgical) explosive breaching. In addition to 16,000 square feet of scenario ranges, Valhalla’s main building features a ManCom system automated square range which is used to introduce students to intuitive dynamic shooting and for various standard shooting programs. Valhalla utilizes outdoor ranges for precision rifle, counter vehicle-ambush, tracking and various other courses.

The Valhalla Shooting Club was named after "Valhalla," the warrior's heaven in Norse Mythology. It was at Valhalla that warriors would go train after their death in preparation for the ultimate battle between good and evil. The story is told that Warriors would train all day in real combat, suffering wounds and even death, only to be miraculously healed each evening for a wonderful feast. At the Valhalla Shooting Club, students will train hard all day in a variety of disciplines and have the option of a world class meal at the lodge every evening. We've integrated the best parts of the legend with our passion for realistic training to create a unique, effective and comfortable learning environment.
